Compose.ly Overview

Compose.ly is one of Taroko’s newest products, born from a team of entrepreneurs and content marketing experts with a proven track record of building and launching successful SaaS platforms and services. At Compose.ly, we recognize the power of storytelling, and we believe that every business has a great story to tell. The problem is that many businesses struggle to share theirs in an authentic way that drives results. That’s where Compose.ly comes in.

 

Who We Are Looking For  

Compose.ly is on the hunt for a new editor to join our small but kickass team. Ideal candidates will be experienced writers adept at the art of storytelling. You should be able to research, create, and maintain articles, blogs, and white papers for numerous clients spanning a multitude of different industries. You will also be responsible for preparing, rewriting, and editing copy to improve the readability of others’ work. You should be able to read copy or proofs to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, and syntax. Having experience in crafting search engine optimized (SEO) content is a plus. If you don't, no worries, we’ll provide training.

Our ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial mindset, enjoys working as part of a greater team , and has a positive outlook about developing their skill set. Being self-motivated, goal-oriented, and consistently looking for opportunities to create and improve upon existing processes is a must. You should be passionate about your work and take pride in what you produce.

You’ll be working alongside highly organized, articulate communicators who are quick on their feet and are sticklers for details. You will work closely with your teammates to streamline quality control processes to develop the best writing community in the industry. You should be able to collaborate respectfully with your team and demonstrate the ability to work independently in an efficient manner. We encourage smart, not hard (okay, well maybe sometimes hard, too!) work and encourage focusing on solutions, not problems.

Responsibilities

  • Proof, edit, and rework other writers’ content

  • Craft and write blog articles, white papers, and press releases for numerous clients

  • Correspond with writers to provide feedback and coordinate revisions

  • Occasionally pitch/write guest posts and answer HAROs

  • Create and manage writer/project assignment strategy

  • Assist in crafting training materials and programs for our writer community

 

Requirements

  • Only individuals with native English speaking and writing proficiency should apply

  • Bachelor's degree or higher

  • Problem-solving skills

  • In-depth research, writing, and editing abilities

  • Familiar with American writing style

  • The ability to learn new information each day and apply it effectively

Taroko Software Story

Taroko is the parent company of Compose.ly, as well as several other successful, value-added software solutions. Founded in 2009 by technology enthusiasts and global adventurers who graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After graduating from college, and spending several years working in consulting and government, the allure of Taiwan proved too powerful to resist. The founders relocated to Taipei, Taiwan, and brought their business acumen and business values along with them.

Several years later, Taroko has grown into an 80+ person team comprised of Taiwanese locals and foreign expats. Taroko is the perfect intersection of the West and the East, bringing out the best elements of both.
