Who We Are Looking For
This is a location-independent (remote) job. Programming experience is essential for this role.
As a technical writer, you will be responsible for crafting professional content. You will:
Produce technical content such as blog posts, white papers, user guides, and quick start guides
Take on assignments on an ongoing basis
Ensure that content conforms to SEO best practices
Ensure that content is engaging, accurate, and follows project guidelines
Work with editors to ensure content is technically accurate and meets guidelines
Make requested revisions to blog posts if necessary
Write clear and concise content that communicates technical concepts to non-technical readers
Efficiently organize and track project assignments to meet client timelines
Skills and Qualifications
Only individuals with native English speaking and writing proficiency should apply
A degree in English, communications, journalism, or a related discipline is preferred, but not required
1-4+ years of experience in the software industry
Previous experience writing technical blog posts.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to write concise and accurate content
Previous experience with SEO in content creation and knowledge of current SEO best practices
Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Able to work under pressure to occasionally meet tight deadlines
Detail-oriented with the ability to quickly research new technologies and concepts
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt quickly to changing requirements
Must be comfortable taking ownership of projects and tasks as needed
We are looking for candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Project management, agile approaches to software development (e.g., Scrum), and continuous delivery (CD)
Version control software like Git and Subversion
